Carl Widell is a Swedish entrepreneur, volunteer, and Honorary Consul of Sweden in Cluj-Napoca. He came to Romania in 2004 to establish Ecolor SRL, a furniture manufacturing company that grew into a major exporter with around 700 employees and an annual turnover of about 75 million euro by the time he stepped down from active management in 2018.
In addition to serving as CEO and shareholder of Ecolor from 2004 to 2018, he has been President of Asociatia Suedia since 2013, founder of the Royal School in Transylvania since 2016, and Honorary Consul of Sweden in Cluj-Napoca since 2017. He is also a board member of Cluj International Committee and is involved in several other community and educational initiatives, reflecting his strong commitment to strengthening ties between Sweden and Romania.
